Vincent Laforet recently produced a short film using his canon EOS 5D. This film was shot exclusively  on his digital slr which is capable of shooting in HD quality! This short film is phenomenal and has some amazing shots! See for yourself! And for all of the photographers out there, you can see the actual JPEG previews direct from the camera on this page: Canon Learning Center – Vincent Laforet. I think this page is especially interesting because it shows the make of the lens he uses, along with his aperture, shutter, and ISO setting.

What is this crazy looking table you ask? Is it a a colouring board? weather map?  or a musical instrument?
These two CalArts students, Owen Vallis and Jordan Hochenmbaum, have been designing, building, and programming an interactive music making machine. Using the latest touch sensitive computer technology these two students have created a  “Tangible & Multi Touch Sonification Instrument”.

When you look at Brick Tables screen, you will see a colorful map of the U.S., which is showing the current surface temperature of the United States. Split sectionally/regionally across the screen are 9 different audio loops. The user has three puck-like objects that can be used in different ways to create music.

Users have a varity of different ways of manipulating the sounds that are produced from this table. These manipulations are made by either drawing with or by rotating these magnetic disks or by using their hands to alter the sounds created.
