It’s no secret how fond we are of the future here at thefuturists.ca. Enter Superfuture.com. Billed as “urban cartography for global shopping experts”, the globetrotters among us will probably agree that www.superfuture.com is just that. An indispensable tool for the sartorial traveller whose favorite activities while on vacation include shopping, shopping and more shopping, SuperFuture provides a prolific, publicly updated database of pretty much every trendy, indie, chic or must-see destination for cities as small and dull as Edmonton (forgive me Edmontoners) to as large and lively as New York.
While they are in the process of a site redesign after recently being victimized by “nasty chinese hackers”, the site is still fully functional and offers a wealth of information (a new and improved massive superfuture megasite is supposedly coming soon). Those going to global shopping capitals like New York, London or Tokyo will love the glorious “Superguides” –maps of each individual neighbourhood marked with every sought-after location for clothes, interior, food, bars+clubs, art, hair, music and “other”. Vancouverites will appreciate the healthy (if somewhat outdated) list of trendy Vancouver shops, bars and restaurants.
